Paving the path to a brighter future
Updated: Feb 27
Often times, we don't have the time or the energy to find out how our children's lives are. We expect them to just exist as we provide the best for them. We have to realize that our children are not growing up in the same environment that we did. They face similar things but on a whole different level. We must be willing to get more involved in our children's lives.
Most parents are too preoccupied with trying to provide for their family. There's an expectation that the educators should play a more vital role in the lives of our children -- especially since they spend more time with our kids than we do. The fallacy with this perception is that educators are there to educate and the school system doesn't allow for one on one interactions when the classrooms are already overloaded. There is a gap that needs to be bridged between home and school, but who is going to build it?
Sowing of Seeds Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, serves the purpose of bridging the gap between home and school for our youth. We are in place to serve as a liaison between home and school life. Our mentors are the stepping stone of information that is provided to minimize the youth from falling through the cracks. We help children and their parents understand the effects of bullying, peer pressure and help establish accountability for disruptive behaviors.
Our program is free to the members of the community of which we serve. Our volunteers are readily waiting to help. If you would like to find out more information on how to register your child for free mentoring services, please contact us at 252-714-3020 or email us at
